In the summer of 2020, when the world was in upheaval and Black Lives Matter marches took place across the globe, it was a time for many to awaken to their own prejudices, get out of ignorance and break their silence. Wanting to be a part of the change, and inspired by her fellow comics, Emily created the live stand-up comedy show, WAKE UP BECKY. Already knowing the power that art has to heal hearts and move the needle in the right direction, Emily assembled a collection of supremely talented comics of different races and cultures to create COMITY, harmony and understanding amongst each other and with the audience. WAKE UP BECKY quickly ascended from zoom to college shows to sold out performances in Hollywood. WAKE UP BECKY just completed a run at The Crow, where it included a round table discussion amongst the comics. This experience has been described as cathartic, eye-opening and EDU-TAINING! Comedy that not only brings big laughs, but is also deeply meaningful.
